چکیده
The shrinkage limit is one of the Atterberg limits and a fundamental geotechnical parameter used to assess settlement other volume change parameters engineering soils containing clays. This paper describes index tests results on expansive soil treated with rice husk ash (RHA) 5%, 10% 15% quicklime activated (QARHA) obtained using laboratory testing procedure. representative was subjected classification it found be high soil, an A-7-6 according American Association States Highway Transportation Officials (AASHTO) poorly graded Universal Soil Classification System (USCS). It classified as highly plastic soil. treatment exercise at rate 0% (reference), 2%, 4%, 6%, 8% addition RHA, 5%-QARHA, 10%-QARHA 15%-QARHA by weight dry RHA improved properties; varying rates ranging from 5.7%, 27.9% for respectively reference control experiment. And index, improvement also substantial i.e. 7.8% 55.7% 2% effect 5% lime (5%-QARHA) showed 6.6% 34.4% 5%-QARHA Also, (10%-QARHA 15%-QARHA) properties presented which shows that higher activation quicklime, pozzolanic performance Finally, its composites achieved process have shown alternative cementing materials use binders in modification utilized subgrade materials.

Intrinsic degradation of volatile fatty acids in laboratory-compacted clayey soil.
Volatile fatty acids (VFAs) represent the major organic constituent of landfill leachate and provide the greatest potential for leachate induced organic contamination of groundwater (e.g. as represented by an increase in the concentration of dissolved organic carbon and chemical oxygen demand). Long-term diffusion tests were performed for laboratory-compacted clayey soil plugs exposed to contin...

:‘)ii$ Machine piling of slash and brush after harvest is commonly practiced when establishing new conifer plantations. However, it can result in increased soil bulk density, decreased soil macroporosity, and increased soil strength, thus reducing conifer root development and above-ground growth (Froehlich 1979, Sands and Bowen 1978). Because natural recovery of soil from compaction is slow, wa...
متن کاملcombining topographic and soil attributes for spatial prediction of model parameters of soil shrinkage curve
this study was conducted to investigate the spatial variability of model parameters of soil shrinkage curve in cherlgerd district, chaharmahal-va-bakhtiari province. ninety nine locations were selected and soil clods were collected from the 0-10 cm layer and brought to the laboratory. soil shrinkage curve was measured, according to archimedes's principle, by covering the undisturbed clods ...
متن کاملBehavior of Compacted Lime-soil Columns
This study presents the results of large scale laboratory model tests to investigate the behavior of Compacted Lime – Well-graded Soil (CL-WS) rigid stone columns in soft soils. The unit cell idealization is used for construction of composite specimens by evaluating the influence of different parameters such as the diameter of the column (D), the slenderness ratio (L/D) and the area ratio (Ar)...
متن کاملCBR Improvement of Clayey Soil with Geo-grid Reinforcement
The quality and life of pavement is greatly affected by the type of sub-grade, sub base and base course materials. The most important of these are the type and quality of sub-grade soil. But in India most of the flexible pavements are need to be constructed over weak and problematic sub-grade. The California bearing ratio (CBR) of these sub-grade have very low, it needs to more thickness of pav...
